Leadership Development Course

Purpose:
To educate officers of Lodges and any other Brother interested in improving himself in Freemasonry and in improving his leadership skills for all walks of life. It is recommended that this course be taken by every Freemason who aspires to carry out the mission of the Craft – to make good men better. The emphasis is on leadership skills because every brother is a leader by virtue of the fact that he is a Freemason. Other courses are offered by Grand Lodge to enhance a brother’s understanding of what it is to be a Freemason. Among them are LSOME, MDC and RTTE.

Overview:
Lesson One emphasizes the need to start by knowing your product. Our product is Freemasonry. The Philosophy, History & Power of the Craft are discussed. 12 Reasons for being loyal to the Craft are outlined.

Lesson Two outlines in depth the duties & responsibilities of each Lodge Officer.

Lesson Three deals with motivational skills and team building. These are basic elements for a good leader to posses.

Lesson Four outlines basic fundamentals of oral communication skills

Lesson Five outlines fundamentals of written communication skills

Lesson Six discusses program planning and program ideas. A Back to Basics concept points to the need for Lodge programs to deal with study and the involvement of each brother in providing programs designed to Educate, Inspire, Excite, Interest and turn On the brothers.

Lesson Seven presents the structure and function of Grand Lodge, its hierarchy and its committee structure.

Lesson Eight is a discussion of the various Masonic Charities.
